My name is Lisa and welcome to my site about St Julians holiday apartment rentals in Malta. This is a business that I have worked in for several years and I hope to be able to help you arrange a great location to stay in during your visit to the Maltese Islands.
If your plan is to visit the Maltese Islands for a relaxing time in the warm weather and sunshine, or you will be visiting for work and need to find a short-term apartment rental, I can help you to make the process as quick, easy and painless as possible for you.
My work mainly involves helping holiday makers to select an apartment once they have visited Malta – you would be amazed at just how many people come to visit for a week in a hotel and then end up staying for several months! These people typically want to rent a place in a good location for a few weeks or perhaps up to a couple of months. There is a tricky period of time where it becomes very expensive to stay in a hotel, but not long enough to rent an apartment long-term. I help many people each year in that situation.
I also help people to find a suitable holiday let for between one and three weeks. There are lots of people, especially families, that would rather stay in one building – a home away from home – than in multiple hotel rooms. Perhaps this describes your family? If it does, I look forward to helping you.
You will notice that as I describe the types of real estate available below, I do not mention any prices. This is deliberate. If you really need to find a property for two hundred euros, it will almost certainly be possible – it will not be in the best location and it will not be big, but it is possible. At the other end of the spectrum, if your budget is a few thousand euros, then virtually any sort of property is possible, from penthouses to villas with a pool. In between, there are many very nice buildings and properties to let short-term that can suit any family and need. My job is to understand your needs and budget and then find the best place in the most suitable area that I can. Think of it as a bespoke service in that regard.
Location, Location, Location
You might have a fixed idea about where you would like to stay during your holiday to Malta. If you do have a plan, then things become much easier. Clearly, from the name of this website, I help lots of people to let property in St Julian’s. St Julian’s really is the core of the island for entertainment and a large percentage of visitors. Other popular areas with lots of holiday apartments in Malta include Sliema, Qawra, Bugibba and Mellieha and Marsalforn in Gozo1.
These areas are more geared up for tourism and the needs of foreign visitors. There are many parts of Malta2 that are charming and very nice to visit, but they are really traditional fishing ports or villages and they lack the kind of infrastructure that a visitor would probably need.
In contrast, St Julian’s3 and Sliema have everything that a visitor would need during their vacation, including easy access to buses and taxis to reach the rest of the country.
In terms of locating ideal holiday apartments in Malta, there are many available properties in Sliema and St Julian’s that have an open sea view and are within easy walking distance of the local amenities. This is why such a large number of visitors choose these areas. Perhaps you will too…?
The photograph on the left was taken from the island of Comino, which sites in between Malta and Gozo, in the summer of 2013. As you can see, there are some very beautiful sights to see and experiences to have during your stay.
I don’t work in tourism per se, but I can certainly help to recommend a few day trips and visits that you can make from your central base in St Julian’s or Sliema. Of course, one of the “must do” experiences is to see the historic buildings and bastions of Valletta – they really are history come to life. Another must see is the ancient walled city of Mdina in the south of the island.
Why Rent A St Julians Holiday Apartment?
When it comes to the location of your St Julians holiday apartment, there are a few developments that are wonderful and luxurious. They really are a step above the rest. While these places have apartments to let short-term, they are all owned by private individuals or investment companies.
In Sliema, the prime spot is at Tigne Point. The area sits opposite the Valletta bastions, so has a great view. It also contains the largest shopping mall in Malta, called The Point.
In St Julian’s, the prime spot for real estate is the Portomaso Marina. The marina is a great spot to relax and while away a few hours, perhaps in one of the local restaurants, whilst watching the yachts. There is also a shopping complex here. Portomaso has it’s own casino, is close to another casino at Dragonara and is just a few minutes walk away from the Paceville party zone. If you want some luxury and nightlife during your trip, this is a great place to rent an apartment.
If your budget isn’t quite as high, then there are some great apartments to rent on Spinola Bay and Balluta Bay (both in St Julian’s) and also on Tower Road in Sliema. These are typically two, three or four bedrooms, with a terrace and a sea view. There really are worse ways to vacation!
Let Me Help You Find The Perfect Malta Holiday Apartment
Obviously, you can book a holiday apartment online and select from the description provided on the website in question. I don’t discourage you from doing that.
However, there can be little doubt that a conversation and some guidance from someone based locally could provide some real assistance. After all, it is your holiday and if you get something like the location to stay in fundamentally wrong, it can have a very negative impact on your trip. Why take the risk? There is very little to lose in speaking to me and potentially lots to be gained by having a real person helping you out.
Sometimes I am able to negotiate reduced rates for people. This usually happens for longer stays (several weeks or more) but sometimes if I know the owner well things are possible.
Where I can really add value is in selecting the best short-term holiday apartment. I have personally inspected hundreds of holiday apartments in Malta, right across the island, so have a very good feel for what is available and whether it matches the description that you have given me. You can’t get this fingertip feel for a market from a website!
